Niagara police comment on social media trend about sexual assault

Niagara police are bringing attention to a disturbing trend circulating on social media.
The trend wrongly says sexual assault is legal on Apr. 24, which is this Saturday.
Police say they have been contacted by a number of concerned citizens about this.
“There is no such thing as a free day for criminal offences,” says a police news release.
“Sexual violence is never acceptable as a joke or punch line.”
Sexual violence includes: sexual abuse or sexual assault, rape, staking, indecent exposure, voyeurism, cyber-harassment, trafficking, or sexual exploitation.
