Niagara police arrest youth after sexual assault on public bus

Niagara police have arrested a young person in connection to a sexual assault on a public bus travelling between Niagara Falls and St. Catharines.

According to investigators, a woman boarded a bus headed for St. Catharines near Morrison Street and Dorchester Road in Niagara Falls around 7:05 a.m. on April 17.

While onboard, she was sexually assaulted by an unknown man.

Around 7:40 a.m., she exited the bus on Welland Avenue near Geneva Street in St. Catharines. The man believed to have assaulted her got off the bus at the same stop and immediately ran away.

Police say the woman was not physically injured.
