Niagara police have arrested a teenage boy following the stabbing of an adult man in Niagara Falls Tuesday evening.

Emergency crews say they attended the area of Victoria Avenue and Centre street in Niagara Falls following a report of a stabbing where they found a 38-year-old man seriously injured.

They transported the man to an out-of-town hospital in critical condition.

Investigators say that a male suspect was driving a vehicle with the male victim and the victim’s 6-year-old daughter in the back seat.

Detectives say the suspect and the victim got into a verbal argument, which resulted in a physical fight outside the vehicle. The fight led to the suspect to allegedly stab the victim.

The girl then exited the back seat of the vehicle, and the suspect entered the driver seat and fled the area.

Officers say they identified and arrested the 17-year-old boy from Hamilton Wednesday.

The teen was charged with aggravated assault and two counts of breach of recognizance.

The teenager was held in custody for a scheduled video-bail hearing to a St. Catharines courthouse Thursday.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
