Niagara Police arrest one, looking for others following Break and Enter

Niagara Regional Police have arrested one suspect in relation to a break and enter on St. Clair Avenue in Niagara Falls.

On December 14th around 1:15 a.m. three suspects forced their way into a home and demanded the homeowners hand over their valuables. Police do not say if anything was stolen, however, they do indicate that at least one suspect was carrying a firearm.

The suspects then fled in a dark coloured pickup truck.

On Saturday, detectives arrested a 16-year-old from St. Catharines in relation to the incident. He was charged with:

  • Break, Enter and Commit Robbery contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.
  • Robbery – Use Firearm contrary to section 344(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
  • Disguised with Intent contrary to section 351(2) of the Criminal Code.
  • Mischief under $5000 contrary to section 430(4) of the Criminal Code.
  • Fail to Comply with Release Order (Undertaking) contrary to section 145(4)(a) of the Criminal Code (2 Counts).

The teenager attended a video bail hearing at the Hamilton Court House on December 20th.

The Youth Criminal Justice Act of Canada prohibits the Niagara Regional Police Service from releasing the identity of the accused teen as he is less than 18 years of age.

Due to the Criminal Justice Act, police are not able to differentiate the other suspects at this time. However, suspects have been described.

Suspect 1 is a black male in his early 20’s with a slim build. He was wearing a blue touque or bandana, blue surgical mask, a black adidas hoodie, and dark blue or black pants.

Suspect 2 is described as a male with a medium build. He was wearing a blue Nike hoodie, white face covering, black pants, and black or grey shoes.

Suspect 3 is described as a white male with a large build. He was wearing a red face covering, green hoodie with “Nova Scotia” in black wording, and blue or black jeans.
