The sounds of simulated gunfire and possible smoke may be in the air tomorrow around Mountain and Garner roads as Niagara police conduct outdoor training.

The Emergency Task Unit will be undergoing training exercises from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There will also be controlled explosions and an increase police presence in the area.

Police say that signage will be posted to notify the public of the training activity.

While traffic in the vicinity is not expected to be impacted, people are asked to avoid the training site for the safety reasons.
