Niagara-on-the-Lake’s tree misses the holiday spirit

A Christmas tree in the center of Niagara-on-the-Lake is getting attention for all the wrong reasons.

Townspeople are complaining that the town is being a bit Grinch-like, and the sparsely decorated spruce reminds them of a Charlie Brown Christmas tree.

A taller tree once fell over years ago, blocking traffic. And because the current tree is next to the cenotaph, an agreement with the local legion prevents it from being colorfully decorated. But some people aren’t buying those reasons.
