Niagara officer charged

Niagara Regional Police Service Special Constable Jerry Elia was arrested Tuesday and charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm.

The incident in question occurred on January 2nd when a person in custody at the Niagara Falls station was allegedly assaulted in their cell. Special Constable Elia has been reassigned pending the resolution of the case.
