Niagara’s housing market

Housing prices in the Hamilton-Burlington area are slipping, in some cases down $50 000 to $60 000, but it is still a sellers market in the Niagara area.

The average price for a detached home in St.Catharines is $375 000. That’s about $100 000 less than the average price of a home in the Hamilton-Burlington area and a bargain when it comes to the GTA.

The summer months are typically a slow time for selling and buying homes and while the market has cooled down across Southern Ontario, prices have remained steady in Niagara.

The Niagara Association of Realtors says its hard to predict where the market is going, but it does not expect prices to drop significantly, if at al
