Niagara Falls has unveiled the city’s first rainbow crosswalk in a virtual reveal Thursday.

“This is the very first municipally endorsed rainbow crosswalk in the region (that’s been) installed,” said Mayor Jim Diodati.

“We stand for diversity and inclusivity and that’s what this represents.”

The crosswalk is at the intersection of Queen St. and Erie Ave. connecting city hall and the Rosberg Family Park.

The city says they used thermoplastic materials for the colours to ensure a long lasting finish.

The total cost of the project is $3,000.
