New York State officials say Niagara Falls State Park is in line for $9 million in improvements with about $5 million going toward rehabilitation of the plaza at the Cave of the Winds attraction.

The rest of the money will fund restoration of the observation area on Terrapin Point.

The money comes from the New York Power Authority, which operates a power plant along the Niagara River. The park surrounding the famous waterfalls is the oldest state park in the United States.
