A 20 year old St. Catharines man has been charged with attempted murder.

Niagara Regional Police say a 20 year old woman was stabbed early Sunday morning at a Niagara Falls hotel and was rushed to hospital where she underwent surgery. She was initially listed in critical, but her condition has since been upgraded to stable. Police say Peter James Ashford will remain in custody pending a bail hearing.
