A Niagara Falls singer-songwriter has reached a major milestone in her career. One of the songs written by Danica Bucci was released on iTunes today. The song could be the big break the artist has been longing for. The song, entitled “Red Dress” recorded by Canadian country artist JoJo Mason, hit airwaves today.
Regarding the song Bucci said, “I did a show in Toronto and I was wearing a red dress and I met a couple people that had been to the show and they were like you were the one who wore the red dress, so I just knew that would stick out in people’s minds.”
Bucci pitched her song to a music label in hopes of it getting picked by another artist and within a matter of days she was offered a music contract.
She has been singing since she was 3, song writing since 11 and taught herself how to play the piano at 15. She draws inspiration from some of the biggest stars in the music business. On her style, Bucci said, “Pop, country, soul, very similar to Adele sounding, but I am also the female Sam Hunt, so that hip-hop country.”
Bucci recently travelled to Nashville, Tennessee where she worked with another Niagara Falls native – Tim Hicks. She’s also had the chance to the pick the brain of respected song writer Jeff Cohen, who has written for country duo Sugarland.
Bucci is also working on releasing tunes of her own over the next year.
