Niagara Falls launches Spooky Awards

Niagara Falls is getting into the Halloween spirit, launching its first-ever Spooky Awards.

The city says the awards are a way to get people to decorate their homes and enjoy the Halloween season in a COVID-19 friendly way.

Residents can dress up the outside of their homes in family-oriented Halloween decor for a chance to win prizes.

The categories are:

• Judges’ Favorite (a panel of City officials and members of Niagara Falls Comic Con)
• Best Effects
• People’s Choice (voted by the public)

The city has a map that highlights the houses taking part.

Over 50 people have entered the contest already.
