Two people are facing charges after more than $1,000 worth of goods were stolen from a Grimsby grocery store.

It happened around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the Superstore on South Service Rd.

Police say multiple uniformed officers were greeting customers at the entrance of the store and accepting food and cash donations.

The officers were approached by store staff who said a man and woman were seen stealing merchandise.

Police searched the store but could not locate the duo. Officers went to the parking lot and located the couple with multiple bags full of cosmetics, toys and beer that had not been paid for.

Dahlia Komenda, 25, and Lucas Latka, 30, both of Wainfleet were arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 and disobey order of court.
