Niagara College to triple on-campus housing by 2027

Current and incoming students at Niagara College will see on-campus housing options triple over the next four years.
The post-secondary school says there will be new living spaces for approximately 1,000 students at its campuses in Welland and Niagara-on-the-Lake by 2027.
“A significant expansion of on-campus housing for our students will help to address the urgent need for affordable housing across Niagara,” Niagara College President Sean Kennedy said in a statement.
Kennedy says the school hopes to break ground on new residences in the new year.

In addition to new residence buildings, the college is also planning to renovate and improve its existing on-campus housing.
The post-secondary school currently has over 10,000 full-time students enrolled.
Niagara College has on-campus residences that accommodate 228 students at the Welland Campus and 200 students at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
