Niagara-bound Burlington Skyway bridge lane closures on pause until Aug. 11
The Niagara-bound lane closures of the Burlington Skyway bridge are on pause until August 11 following announcements that all lanes will remain open this and next weekend.
Ontario’s Ministry of Transportation announced Wednesday that the scheduled weekend shutdowns will be paused this weekend due to weather.
The Skyway will additionally remain open during the August long weekend, meaning the next scheduled 12-hour closure is set for August 11.

Weekend closures were originally scheduled for select Friday nights throughout July to replace one expansion joint of the bridge.
However, the Ontario government has since changed the schedule to select Saturday nights throughout July and August after Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati said the Friday night closures were having a large impact on the city’s tourism industry.
