Performing arts students at Brock University will be playing a different tune next semester in a brand new facility in downtown St.Catharines. We were on hand today, as movers installed the collection of pianos at the new Marilyn I. Walker school of fine and performing arts.

There are 9 upright and grand pianos being installed, with the grands weighing about 700lbs. Pat Hannigan and his brother Rick are the 2-man team responsible for moving all the pianos. “We have all specialized moving equipment just for pianos. Simple process, mostly mechanical.”

Now that the new pianos are in the facility, all they need to do is get tuned and students will be able to make some music come September.
