New Peel police chief

The next chief of police for the Peel region has been announced.

Deputy Chief Jennifer Evans will take on the new role, joining a short list of Canadian female officers to be named Chief.

A Statistics Canada survey shows only 9.5% of senior officers in Canada are women.
