New month, new hydro rates

Increase shouldn’t break your wallet.
If you’re a typical household that uses 800-kilowatt hours a month and don’t have a smart meter, you will see an increase of almost $6 per month.
Smart meter users will be hit with a smaller increase of about $4.
The Ontario Energy Board reviews the rates twice a year and says prices are changing as coal-fired generation declines and is replaced with natural gas, nuclear and renewable energy.
