New Featurette // The Giver

Based on the 1993 novel from Lois Lowry, The Giver is a science fiction film set in a “perfect world” lined with dark and complex secrets. In this colourless, dystopian world where there is no war, sickness or racism everyone has a role and for 12-year-old Jonas that role is to be the Receiver of Memories. It isn’t until he receives the role of having to bear his world’s emotional history, that Jonas begins to uncover the truths about his world’s past. Jonas quickly realizes that everything may not be as it seems as he discovers that his forefathers gave up humanity in order to have a stable society.

The Giver is slated for release on August 15, 2014.
