New COVID-19 variant prompts Canada to ban visitors from Southern Africa

The world is talking about a new covid variant called, “Omicron” and it’s prompted several nations to issue new travel bans to try and prevent its spread. Canada acted quickly and began restricting air travel to and from seven African countries. The decision followed an emergency meeting. Phil Perkins reports.
