Hamilton officials gathered at the West Harbour to show off the new Pier 7 boardwalk. It features 12 docking spaces, seating areas and a restored asphalt trail to accommodate cyclists and runners. The boardwalk and docks will be lit up at night and you’ll also notice the area has been landscaped, with the addition of trees and flowers.

During the last three decades, the city has invested in re-developing the Waterfront, transforming the area into a space where people can live, work and play. Mayor Fred Eisenberger says putting in amenities like this will attract developers and future residents and that, in turn, will bring in new economic opportunities for the city.

The goal is to transform the West Harbour community into a vibrant, mixed-use space within the next three to five years.
