New $32M emergency room coming to Brantford General Hospital

Brantford General hospital is getting a $32 million upgrade to its emergency room with help from an investment by the Ontario government.
Will Bouma, MPP for Brantford-Brant, says that the revitalization of the Brantford General Hospital has been a “top priority” since the beginning of both his and the Ontario government’s terms.

The new emergency room will feature the implementation of a “see and treat” area with treatment bays and rooms, an extended stay area, mental health safe rooms and observation area, newly renovated walk-in arrival area, an ambulance arrival and off-loading zone, patient drop -off zone and the associated clinical and non-clinical support spaces.

Unique to this renovation will be a newly established Indigenous Services Suite that will be adjacent to the Emergency Department and accessible to all patients.
The government is set to invest $28 million in the project through a grant established through the Ontario “Your Health” plan.
All updates to the project will be available through the Reimagine BCHS website.
