NDP health critic France Gélinas says the restaurant menu bill introduced by the Liberal government today is not what she had in mind.

The legislation calls for calorie counts to be included on menus in chain restaurants, but Gélinas says that isn’t good enough. “I also want to see a flag for high sodium. It is something that is easy to do.”

Gélinas says she’s been waiting for this legislation for six years, and wants action to be taken as soon as possible.
