NDP strategist Melanie Richer talks about the party’s new strategy

CHCH News anchor Matt Ingram speaks with NDP strategist Mélanie Richer to discuss the NDP’s current campaign strategy.
At the beginning of the year polls had projected the party to have around 19 per cent support, but as of Wednesday it sits around 8 per cent.
Richer, a principal with public affairs firm Earnscliffe Strategies, talked about why she thinks the party lost so many supporters.
Ingram also asked her her thoughts on party leader Jagmeet Singh’s strategy to shift away from trying to become prime minister towards convincing people to elect more NDP candidates.
Richer talks about the NDP’s path to rebuild their support ahead of election day, and her thoughts on if Singh can win his own riding of Burnaby Central.
