NDP promises “leaner cabinet”

NDP leader Andrea Horwath is promising to respect Ontario’s tax dollars and run “a leaner cabinet.”

Horwath says if elected on June 12, she will appoint a minister of savings and accountability.

“We can cut ministry budgets by having fewer cabinet ministers offices and agencies with overlap in them will be streamed online to find savings,” said Horwath.

Horwath says the new minister will bring transparency, provide oversight and ensure every department respects Ontarians’ tax dollars.
