Nasty drunk driving crash – but minor injuries

Three people were sent to hospital after a hit and run crash that flipped an SUV over Monday night in central Hamilton.

It happened at Sanford and Wilson streets. Two of the bloodied people who crawled out of the SUV were sitting in shock, on the sidewalk, after what happened to their vehicle. Police say it was hit at the intersection by a car, witnesses say ran the red light.

The driver of that car was later stopped near the bottom of the Sherman Cut. He’s charged with fail to remain and impaired driving.

The three people were later released from hospital with minor injuries.
