Municipal election 100 days away

Hamiltonians will find themselves at the polls in just over three months. Hamiltonians will head to the polls on October 24th and there are some key positions that could see some new faces.
Mayor Fred Eisenberger has already announced he will not seek re-election. Hamilton Chamber of Commerce President Keenan Loomis, Ejaz Butt, and former Hamilton Mayor Bob Bratina are all in the running to replace him.
Hamilton MPP and former NDP Leader Andrea Horwath has been rumoured to be a mayoral candidate but her team has yet to confirm a switch to municipal politics.
As for councillors, there could either be a lot of change. As of now, current councillors Jason Farr, Lloyd Ferguson and Terry Whitehead have not confirmed whether they will seek re-election or not.
Ward Five councillor Russ Powers and current Ward Four councilor Sam Merulla will not be seeking reelection this year
The deadline for candidates to file their nomination papers is August 19th.
