The high number of motorcycle crashes this week increased again overnight, with one motorcyclist losing his life while two others were seriously hurt.

The latest came just after midnight, involving a car and a motorcycle in Brampton at the intersection of Bovaird Drive and Heritage Road.  The motorcyclist was thrown by the impact and pronounced dead on scene.

Police spent the night talking to witnesses and are looking at speed as a possible factor.  The driver of the car had minor injuries.

In Hamilton a man in his twenties was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a crash on the Red Hill Valley Parkway just after 10 pm.  Police kept the northbound lanes closed between Greenhill Avenue and Dartnall closed until the morning rush while they reconstructed the crash.

A third motorcyclist received life-threatening injures from a collision involving a car in Scarborough.  That happened around 8 pm at Bridlewood Blvd and Huntingwood Drive.
