Worker at St. Catharines crash scene struck by vehicle

Police are investigating after a worker was struck by a vehicle in St. Catharines.

Crews were at the scene of an earlier crash on Highway 406, near Westchester Cres., just before midnight on Sunday when a driver lost control.

OPP say the person was contracted to the Ministry of Transportation.

He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Provincial police say the driver remained at the scene.

The Ministry of Labour has also been notified.

An earlier version of this story incorrectly said the person hit was an MTO officer.
