After 3 years of construction the Niagara Regional police service opened their new headquarters at 5700 Valley Way. Over the next 5 weeks, 600 uniform and civilian employees will be moving into the $65 million facility. Any 9-1-1 calls made in the Niagara area, from Grimsby to Wainfleet and Niagara-on-the-Lake will flow through here.

The 3-storey building is over 200 thousand square feet. It features a larger prison cell, one made primarily of glass not bars and the forensics unit will also be housed in the new building.

The building replaces the Niagara Falls district 2 detachment and the main headquarters in St.Catharines. The old headquarters will continue to be operational until a new facility is built. Construction on that building is expected to begin next year.
