Motocross rider remains in Hamilton hospital

Canadian motocross rider Bruce Cook remains at Hamilton General Hospital after attempting a historic jump at Copps Coliseum Friday.
Friends and family have been at Cook’s bedside since the accident, and Cook has received an outpouring of support on social media.
He posted a photo to his Facebook page late last night thanking fans for their support. Cook also wrote that his parents are by his side “keeping his spirits high.”
Cook was attempting a double flip during the Nitro Circus Live Tour, a stunt that has never been done before.
He suffered injuries to his spine as well as a number of broken bones. He underwent surgery on his back yesterday morning, and is expected to remain in Ontario for at least another week before being transferred to his home province of British Columbia.
