Motocross rider injured in stunt at Copps Coliseum

An extreme stunt has left a Canadian motocross rider in hospital with serious injuries.
Bruce Cook was attempting a historic jump at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton last night, when it all went horribly wrong and was caught on camera.
Cook attempted a historic double flip but missed the landing. Close friend and training partner Kris Garwasiuk explains what he saw.
“He rotated the first one perfectly, as he came down he was just slightly under rotated he landed on the back of the bike.”
26-year old Cook was performing at the first show of the elite “Nitro Live” tour. Some say he fell from about 40 feet.
One paramedic on the scene says Cook damaged his head, spine and suffered a number of broken bones.
Cook was rushed to Hamilton General Hospital, and paramedics say when they found him he was conscious and surprisingly calm.
“When i saw him hit the ground the whole Coliseum went dead silent. It’s always shocking to see something like that,” says Brent Bishop who witnessed the fall.
Support has been pouring out on the internet for Cook, a confident daredevil who knew the risks of a sport he loved and was on his way to being it’s biggest name yet.
