More time for the salamander

King Road in Burlington will stay closed an extra week to ensure a safe crossing for the endangered Jefferson Salamanders.

King Road, all the way to Mountain Brow Road was closed off just over two weeks ago and was scheduled to re-open Monday. The roads will stay closed until April 15th because of a delay in the annual migration of the salamanders. The migration started later this year because of cold weather and lack of rain.
