More provincial money is on the way to help Hamilton cope with the significant financial impacts of the pandemic on the HSR.  The Ford government has announced an additional 16-million, 800-thousand dollars in money to keep the service operating despite a 90 percent drop in ridership since the pandemic began. The new money for Hamilton is in addition to two-billion dollars earmarked to help local transit in municipalities across Ontario.  With 150-million dollars in new provincial funding, there is now 650-million available to municipalities.  The provincial government hopes the federal government will match this additional funding.
