More charges laid in crash between Mercedes-Benz and Maserati

Hamilton police have charged a second driver after a serious crash involving a Mercedes-Benz SUV and a Maserati.

Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle collision on Queenston Rd. East and Kenora Ave. shortly after 3 a.m. on March 17.

Investigators say a black Maserati was travelling at a high rate of speed and struck a silver Mercedes-Benz being driven by a 24-year-old Hamilton man.

Police say the driver of the Maserati fled the scene, leaving behind three passengers who had all suffered broken bones in the crash.

The 35-year-old Maserati driver was later identified and charged with dangerous driving and fail to remain at a collision scene.

On Tuesday, police laid charges against the 24-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz. Jakob Husar, of Hamilton, faces three counts of dangerous driving causing bodily harm.
