More Canadians not following any religion: StatCan

Statistics Canada released a 2021 census mapping out the changing landscape of religious beliefs in Canada.
The StatCan census shows that the number of people that choose to follow no religion has grown from 16.5 per cent in 2001 to 34.6 per cent in 2021.
The study shows a steady decrease in Christian followers and a doubling of Hinduism, Islam and Sikhism. The Christian population went from 77.1 per cent in 2001 to 53.3 per cent in 2021.
Approximetly 81,000 people, or 0.2 per cent of the population of Canada reported a traditional Indigenous spirituality in the census.
