The trial of a Montreal family accused of killing three teenage sisters and their father’s ex-wife has been adjourned in Kingston because of a medical emergency.

It’s unclear when the trial will resume, but the judge told the jury he will update them by Wednesday.

One of the accused has become ill.

A 58 year old man along with his 41 year old wife and their 20 year old son are accused of killing the women, whose bodies were found in a submerged car in the Rideau Canal over two years ago.

There have been allegations from other family members that the murders were so-called “honour killings”.
