Montreal Mayor Michael Applebaum is facing 14 criminal charges in a corruption investigation.

Quebec Police say the charges include fraud, breach of trust and conspiracy, relating to bribes for real estate projects, among other things. Applebaum was arrested at his home this morning and is now at the Quebec Provincial Police Headquarters.

Anti-Corruption officials raided City Hall last February. Applebaum was sworn in as Montreal’s 42nd mayor last fall, replacing Gerald Tremblay, who resigned amid corruption allegations.

The investigation is ongoing.
