Mohawk sculpture back on display
An original piece of Mohawk College has been preserved, and is now back on display for students to see.
The sculpture was originally created back in 1969 when Mohawk College opened its doors. It was built by George Wallace, who was a professor of fine arts at McMaster at the time. Originally it was outside at Mohawk – but because it’s made of steel, it rusted over time. 15 years ago it was taken down, cut up into pieces and stored. But now it’s back up for all to see.
