Mohawk College launches fundraiser in support of skilled trades students

The Mohawk College Foundation has launched a fundraiser in honour of National Skilled Trades and Technology Week.

The initiative aims to provide greater opportunities for those who would not have considered the trades due to financial or accessibility concerns.

Demand for workers in the skilled trades has grown as the province continues to tackle a growing housing crisis and labour shortage.

Donations can be directed towards four key areas: student success, discovery of the trades, access, and green skills.

All donations will be matched dollar-to-dollar to support students in covering costs not included in tuition, such as uniforms, tools, and personal protective equipment.

Mohawk is home to one of the largest skilled trades programs in the country, with thousands of students enrolled each year.

Donations can be made throughout the week through the Mohawk College website.
