Mississauga man charged with first-degree murder, arson in Georgetown fire

A Mississauga man has been charged with first-degree murder and arson in connection with a fatal house fire in Georgetown last month.
Two people were found dead following an early morning house fire on Hidden Lake Trail on Feb. 17.
Their deaths were believed to be suspicious.
The two people were identified as the homeowners, Krystyna (Emilia) Rerak, 56, and her Andrzej (Andrew) Rerak, 59.

Officers arrested Harrison Brown, 27, of Mississauga on Friday Mar. 26.
Police say he and one of the victims had a business relationship and this was not a random incident.
“At this time, evidence indicates the accused acted independently to commit these murders, and there is no broader, related public safety threat,” said police in a news release.
