Missing red panda from Smithsonian Zoo found

Officials at the Smithsonian Zoo in Washington have found their Red Panda after he went missing this morning.

“Rusty” was a new addition to the zoo, having arrived in April. His caregivers saw him in his enclosure last night but when they went to check on him this morning he was gone. They believed he was hiding somewhere on the zoo grounds.

The zoo tweeted that they found the panda this afternoon in a neighbourhood in Washington D.C., and he is undergoing a check-up with the zoo’s vet.
