Missing Grimsby man may have rented watercraft: Niagara police

Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) is continuing its search for a missing 46-year-old man.
David Martens, of Grimsby, was last seen around 3 p.m. Saturday near the kayak rental at Beacon Harbour in Jordan Station.
Police say Martens’ silver, 2014 4D Mazda 6 was recovered in the area.
Detectives say they have reason to believe he rented some type of watercraft like a kayak or paddleboard before he went missing.
The NRPS Marine Underwater Search and Recovery Unit and the Canadian Coast Guard have been searching the waterways with planes, vessels, helicopters, and underwater sonar.
Officers have also been conducting shoreline searches in the area.
Police are asking residents in the Greater Toronto Area to be on the lookout for unoccupied kayaks or paddleboards near shore or on the shoreline of Lake Ontario.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the NRPS at 905-688-4111, ext. 5400.
