Missing boater found in Lake Ontario

(Updated) The brother of Jarett Scholl, a boater who disappeared during a fishing trip last week, confirms that his body has been found.

However Niagara Regional Police are waiting for the results of an autopsy today before confirming that the body pulled from Lake Ontario last night was Scholl’s.

It was spotted by three men fishing near the Beacon Harbourside yacht club in Lincoln. Beacon Harbourside is not far west of Charles Daley Park, where a fishing boat belonging to Scholl was found last Thursday evening with the motor still running.

Scholl had taken his boat from Grimsby to go fishing earlier that morning.

On Facebook, Brett Scholl posted:

“Jarett Scholl was found resting in peace… I love Jarett along with 1000s of people god bless my brother I love u more than my soul please bless everyone who helped or tryed.(sic) To help find u bro…Love u always Jerry my best friend Lil bro and legend role model god bless all my family and fiends stay strong let’s make Jarett Grimsby and Niagara proud much love to u from the bottom of Jarett Scholl and my family we love you all!!!”

“Thanks so much on behalf of Jarett Scholl and my family for the search tonight nothing but love from the bottom of my heart to everyone god bless you all!!!”
