Misconduct case again Hamilton cop moves forward
A misconduct case against a Hamilton police officer, who’s facing charges under the Police Services Act, is moving forward.
A hearing date will be set on October 4th for Constable Tom Chalmers.
He’s charged with one count of breach of confidence and two counts of neglect of duty.
Chalmers is accused of releasing private information to an individual’s employer in a letter sent on February 22nd, detailing his professional encounters with that person.
It’s his duty as a police officer to keep those matters private.
