Mirvish announces 2014-15 season

David Mirvish has finalized the upcoming season of shows that features everything from Angela Lansbury to figure skating onstage and the epic story of the Titanic.

Figure skater and now-stage star Elvis Stojko was on hand as the emcee and will appear in Blades on Stage, a world premiere that combines ice skating and musical theatre. Other notable shows treading the boards include an all-Canadian cast of the musical Once.

The legendary actress best-known from television’s Murder She Wrote, Angela Lansbury will star in Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit. Lansbury appeared via video to greet the crowd.

“It’s a role I performed recently in London and prior to that on Broadway, and I’m joined by an outstanding cast of actors, wonderful actors directed by the great Michael Blakemore. It’s such a delightful play and I can’t think of a more exciting way to return to Toronto. I look forward to seeing you soon.”

Other notable shows include Wicked and The Book of Mormon. It’s the largest Mirvish season in their history with a total of 19 shows.
