Ministers for Seniors meeting in Hamilton
The problems facing seniors will be the focus of meetings in Hamilton for the next couple of days.
Ontario’s Minister Responsible for Seniors, Sophia Aggelonitis, is hosting the gathering of her federal, territorial and provincial colleagues.
Aggelonitis is worried about care for those suffering from dementia, and the increasing reports of elder abuse.
She says she’d like to see an action plan developed that would make life better and easier for seniors across Canada.
We will also find out more on the “silver advisory” system which will issue alerts when a senior goes missing, similar to amber alerts for missing children.
