Minister of Munic. Affairs reacts

Some city councillors are thinking about asking the province to step in. We spoke with Linda Jeffrey, Ontario’s Municipal Affairs Minister who says the province is watching Toronto closely, and is willing to work with council if a motion is brought forward: “I think what I’ll do is we’ll continue to evaluate and monitor whats going on in the City of Toronto and certainly we will work with council. Whatever they bring forward obviously they have a motion on their agenda next week and certainly when it appears in front of me as the Minister, I will evaluate it and work with the City of Toronto.”
Jeffrey also says she has no plans at this point to alter the Municipal Act to force Ford out of office.
