Thousands in the Halton region attended the annual Milton Santa Claus Parade this afternoon.

Close to 25,000 spectators lined Main St. to catch a glimpse of Kriss Kringle himself.

The theme of the parade this year was “The Next Generation” to celebrate how Milton is flourishing into a bigger community.

The Milton Santa Clause parade has a long history, with the first event being held in 1933.

Organizers say that planning the parade takes an entire year. The parade committee begins meeting in January to book attractions and solicit entries.
